Summit hasn't confirmed this piece of news yet, but it does mention Chris.

According to an interview with director Chris Weitz in the Los Angeles Times, the soundtrack for The Twilight Saga: New Moon will feature music from Muse, Radiohead, Band of Skulls, and others. The interview is a July update at the end of an article recounting a May visit to the New Moon set in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Who knows?

So sorry for the lack of updates; we're working on it!

Hello Community Members!

It may have been a while since you've heard from us, and we're sorry, but until New Moon and Eclipse are done, maybe then we'll find out about our Breaking Dawn director. At the moment, there is no real news to post about Chris Weitz relating to Breaking Dawn. We're sorry if this is an inconvenience, and if you would like to suggest any ideas to keep the community active and alive, go right ahead and comment! We always appreciate ideas for polls, contests, or anything else you might think of.

Thank you,

MetroNews has a great new interview with New Moon director Chris Weitz. In it, he talks about some of the differences we’ll see in New Moon compared to Twilight, including the visual look of the movie–

Q. You’re a very visual director. What’s your vision for New Moon?

A. We’ve got an amazing visual effects team. The whole idea is to use the full palette of colors, to have our shadows be very dark and to have our colours be very rich so that we can experience the full range of emotional texture. The idea is that this will look like a Victorian narrative painting in a way, with those medieval jewel-like colours as well as very glossy deep blacks, and for the composition of the frames to be classical. In some ways, this is going to be a rather old-fashioned film. There are elements that incorporate the latest technology and there are things that are very dynamic in the action scenes. But it’s more Dr. Zhivago than Iron Man.

Sounds awesome! Read the rest of the interview at MetroNews.

SheKnows has an article at the MTV awards, who interviewed Michael Welch (Mike Newton) and Peter Facinelli (Dr. Carlisle Cullen) while they were present. They talked about Chris Weitz, and filming New Moon:
His insight into the exit of Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke is telling. “It was fantastic. We have a new director, Chris Weitz. (He) was amazing. It’s interesting because between him and Catherine, they're so different. Catherine is somebody who can only function at a cluttered desk. She needs chaos to success. That's wonderful. Chris is the exact opposite. Just couldn't be more cool, clam and collected and had his stuff together. It's the people at the top that affect everyone below them -- so the energy was more calm.”

Here is a video from Chris Weitz from a press conference in Montepulciano, Italy.

Now that Eclipse is up and running, what about the fourth, Breaking Dawn? As much as everyone in the cast wants it to happen, it still sounds like nothing's official…yet.

"I'm signed for three," Peter Facinelli told me at the MTV Movie Awards. "I'm hoping that they make four. I mean, if New Moon does well, I think they'll make four."

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart have said they want to make Breaking Dawn, too.
There is a brief mention in this E! Online article about Breaking Dawn, but nothing mentioning Chris.

Apparently, yesterday in Montepulciano, Italy, Chris Weitz held a press convention for New Moon.

Producers Wyck Godffrey (who also produced Twilight) and Bill Bannerman were reported as present during the event, and that also includes the Mayor of Montepulciano. TwilightItalia was present to record the entire event, and here is what they had to say:
"We love both of Volterra and Montepulciano, as well as throughout Tuscany. Of course the book by Stephenie Meyer talks about Volterra, but as always in the cinema, we had to take into account some logistical needs that we did try different location also ended up deciding to run in Montepulciano. We hope to be able to really do justice to both Volterra that in Montepulciano."
They went on to mention why Chris Weitz chose Montepulciano over Volterra itself:
Chris Weitz said that he opted for a need for symmetry and photography. It also took the occasion to say that both cities are beautiful. He added that if there is someone to “blame” for this decision then that’s him because he was a very strong wish of the square instead of Montepulciano to Volterra. And I tell you my impression when he spoke you could see clearly that he has done a very professional choice based on that of which in his view, the film needed to make up.
TwilightItalia also reports that a video will be posted later this week.

Our favourite vampire looked so hot in his kissing scenes yesterday that it's surprising that none of the extras fainted.

It seems like Chris Weitz wants to see the scene from a different angle.

We are very lucky to have contact with some of the extras on set who are risking everything by sending us updates.

If they get caught using their mobiles they will be thrown off set.

How interesting...

New Moon director Chris Weitz really cares about Robert Pattinson.

Chris needs to make sure his biggest star is happy and comfortable at all times whilst filming in Italy.

Rob might be a long way from home but he is still enjoying being with Kristen Stewart and Ashley Greene in the sunshine.

Rob has been busy filming scenes that show off his six pack this morning.

A fan witnessed Chris doing something to help Rob relax.

She twittered: "The director did somthing very smart and sly.

"He had two big trucks move in and block the view of the doorway then sent all the extras to lunch.

"Then he filmed all of Rob's closeups and dialogue during the reunion/embrace while all the extras were gone so he wouldn't have to do the scene with everyone watching.

"That's a lot of pressure for an actor. I caught a glimpse, but was made to move."

She also revealed a set secret: "Extras confirmed the makeup artist was airbrushing Rob's six pack. They could see it from where they were standing."

aweeee! that's so sweet.
